【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesgeneralguidelinesforthepracticeofthermogravimetrycoupledwithinfraredspectrometricdetectionandanalysis(TGA/IR).Thispracticeassumesthatthethermogravimetryinvolvedinthepracticeisproper.Itisnottheintentionofthispracticetoinstructtheuseronproperthermogravimetrictechniques.PleaserefertoTestMethodE1131formoreinformation.1.1Thispracticecoverstechniquesthatareofgeneraluseinthequalitativeanalysisofsamplesbythermogravimetricanalysis(TGA)coupledwithinfrared(IR)spectrometrictechniques.ThecombinationofthesetechniquesisoftenreferredtoasTGA/IR.1.2AsampleheatedinaTGAfurnaceusingapredeterminedtemperatureprofiletypicallyundergoesoneormoreweightlosses.Materialsevolvedduringtheseweightlossesarethenanalyzedusinginfraredspectroscopytodeterminechemicalidentity.Theanalysismayinvolvecollectingdiscreteevolvedgassamplesor,morecommonly,mayinvolvepassingtheevolvedgasthroughaheatedflowcellduringtheTGAexperiment.ThegeneraltechniquesofTGA/IRandothercorrespondingtechniques,suchasTGAcoupledwithmassspectroscopy(TGA/MS),aswellas,TGA,usedinconjunctionwithGC/IR,aredescribedinthereferencedliterature(1-4).1.3Somethermalanalysisinstrumentsaredesignedtoperformboththermogravimetricanalysisanddifferentialscanningcalorimetrysimultaneously.Thistypeofinstrumentissometimescalledasimultaneousthermalanalyzer(STA).TheevolvedgasanalysisperformedwithanSTAinstrument(5)issimilartothatwithaTGA,andso,wouldbecoveredbythispractice.Withuseofasimultaneousthermalanalyzer,thecoupledmethodtypicallyislabeledSTA/IR.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstatementdoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
