【摘要】:Thistestmethodhelpstoassesstheaxiallockingforceofamodulartaper.ExamplesofthesedevicesaredescribedinSpecification.Sometypesofdevicesthatmayutilizethistypeofconnectionarethemodularshoulderandmodularhipprostheses.Additionalmeansofevaluatingthelockingmechanismsoftapersmaybeappropriate,dependinguponthedesignofthedevice.Thistestmethodmaynotbeappropriateforallimplantapplications.Theuseriscautionedtoconsidertheappropriatenessofthepracticeinviewofthematerialsanddesignbeingtestedandtheirpotentialapplication.Whilethistestmethodmaybeusedtomeasuretheforcerequiredtodisengagetapers,anycomparisonofsuchdataforvariouscomponentdesignsmusttakeintoconsiderationthesizeoftheimplantandthetypeoflockingmechanismevaluated.1.1Thistestmethodestablishesastandardmethodologyfordeterminingtheforcerequired,underlaboratoryconditions,todisassembletapersofimplantsthatareotherwisenotintendedtorelease.Someexamplesarethefemoralcomponentsofatotalorpartialhipreplacementorshoulderinwhichtheheadandbasecomponentaresecuredtogetherbyaself-lockingtaper.1.2Thistestmethodhasbeendevelopedprimarilyforevaluationofmetalandceramicheaddesignsonmetaltapersbutmayhaveapplicationtoothermaterialsanddesigns.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
